Jason & Lucia

GTA 6 marks the first time the mainline Grand Theft Auto series has featured a female protagonist as a co-lead, with players controlling both Jason and Lucia across the story.

Lucia Caminos

Lucia is one half of the criminal couple at the center of GTA 6's story. She's introduced already inside the system — early marketing has framed her as someone who has already been through hardship before the story even begins, giving her a harder, more world-weary starting point than a typical GTA protagonist.

Jason Duval

Jason is Lucia's partner, and the pair's relationship — and their attempt to build a life together despite the odds being stacked against them — sits at the emotional core of the game's marketing so far.

The Setup

Rockstar's own framing has emphasized that the couple faces long odds from the start, painting Jason and Lucia's story as a modern spin on the outlaw-couple narrative rather than a lone-wolf crime story. The August 2026 Extended Look — Rockstar's most detailed gameplay reveal so far, shown entirely from in-game PS5 footage — expanded on their story and their place within Leonida's wider criminal world.

What We Don't Know Yet

Full backstory details for both characters, how much of the game is played as Jason vs. Lucia, whether players can freely switch, and the supporting cast beyond the two leads all remain unconfirmed. This page updates as Rockstar reveals more ahead of the November 19, 2026 launch.
